Dental Check-Up
Dental check-ups are a vital part of maintaining good oral health. They allow your dentist to detect any issues early—often before you notice symptoms—making treatment simpler, less invasive, and sometimes even avoidable altogether. The Australian Dental Association recommends having a dental check-up every six months.
At Glebe Hill Dental, your check-up includes a comprehensive examination where the dentist will:
- Perform a periodontal screening to assess your gum health and check for signs of gum disease
- Screen for any early signs of oral cancers
- Thoroughly examine your teeth for dental caries (cavities)
- Assess previous dental work for any wear, damage, or deterioration
- Check for signs of teeth grinding or TMJ (jaw joint) issues
- Take digital dental X-rays, to detect hidden decay or to examine areas beneath existing fillings
- Apply fluoride treatment to strengthen teeth and help prevent future decay
After your examination, your dentist will take the time to discuss any findings with you, ensuring you have a clear understanding of your oral health. If treatment is needed, they will talk you through your options and provide cost information, tailoring the plan to suit your individual needs.
