Children’s Dentistry
At Glebe Hill Dental we love treating the whole family and aim to make your children feel comfortable and excited to visit the dentist.
Exposing your child to caring and friendly dental experiences early on is important to help avoid fear and anxiety later in life. Our team is especially trained to deal with children ranging between 2 to 17 years of age.
Even though primary or “baby” teeth are not there for life, they are still incredibly important for a child’s chewing, speech, and overall confidence. The ideal time for your child’s first check-up is around their first birthday or when their first teeth start to come through. It is recommended that children see the dentist twice a year to assess the health of their teeth, discuss oral hygiene and to manage any potential issues before they turn into a larger problem that can negatively impact a child’s health.
Bulk billed children’s dentistry through the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)*
The CDBS is a government scheme that provides $1000 of basic dental services, every two calendar years, for eligible children. This can include check-ups, x-rays, cleaning, fissures sealants, fillings and extractions.
To confirm your child’s eligibility, you can visit the Services Australia website or call the Medicare general enquiries line on 132 011. Be sure to let us know if your child is eligible when scheduling their dental appointment with us at Glebe Hill Dental and we will take care of the rest.
