Fillings

Dental fillings are a procedure in which white tooth-coloured dental materials are bonded to the tooth.

These fillings aim to improve the appearance of the tooth to give a more attractive smile. It also helps repair and strengthen decayed or broken teeth.

Dental fillings may be required if a tooth is decayed, and the structure is compromised, or if the tooth is broken, either from biting on something too hard or a physical trauma.

At Glebe Hill Dental we avoid placing mercury amalgam fillings and instead use a high-strength tooth coloured material. Old amalgam fillings can lead to healthy teeth cracking and being lost, so it is important to have these fillings assessed by your dentist regularly.
